This time last year, G and I were prepping up and getting super excited about our big day. We've been reveling in the TimeHop reminders of all the fun dates we had with our girls leading up to the day, especailly our local Bachelorette party in DC the weekend before, and all of the little details, like writing our seating charts and menu on farmhouse window panes and getting Levi's final grooming.
We have had an incredible "newlywed year". Does it really ever have to expire?? I still get butterflies in my tummy when our skin touches and giddy giggles when G calls me Sweetie Pea. I think we qualify. And we STILL have our belated honeymoon to look forward to, that is coming up here in about two months!
We always see photo albums full of amazing, artistic, emotional pictures from the wedding day. We have boocoos of those, thanks to the amazing Carolyn Scott Photography. But, we also have a contingency of the lesser-known moments that only Carolyn and Goeff would have had their wits about them to capture. I love these photos just as much as the kissy face moments made for picture frames complete with 2 inch double mat.
Are you excited about your aunties getting married today?? NO!!!!
Bridesmaid Stacie, the ultimate multitasker. Hair did, snacking, speech reviewing, and laughing her ass off. I think she was also petting Levi with her feet.
Hold still baby while I blow hot air into your contacts:
Levi was hangry
An amaretto sour to take the edge off:
Can I have the keys to the car so Auntie G can go to the wedding?? NO!!!!
How many bridesmaids does it take to get the dress on the bride?
G's belt ties got caught outside of the car door and INSIDE the tire well. I'm lucky she wasn't severed en route.
No biggie, we'll just cut it off and keep on moving...
In between takes, when it was 267 degrees, I got A/C service from my bridesmaids.
I was airing out my legs under all those feathers, but the camera caught my garter. Oh La La
Two brides are dangerous because when both have beading, the beading can get caught...
I was so mad at Levi for all but rolling around in the dirt during photos.
Bridesmaids emergency conference:
Lilly DID actually make it all the way down the aisle with a little coaching from the crowd and the familiar cry of her little brother in the front row. Love.
If it weren't for Stacie, we would have done all that for nothing because we had forgotten about signing the paperwork.
That moment when Kim and Ginny became Jim and Kenny.
This badass dancer... I can't even.
Baby whisperer, I am not.
How she got poked in the head with a sparkler, I will never know. We bought them from Costco and they were meant for kids, waaaaay too short for a proper sparkler send off. It's perfect.
